Fire has broken out in a multi-unit residential building on Sankt Göransgatan in Stadshagen. Several residents spontaneously evacuate and a soot-covered man in his mid-20s states that he is the one who started the fire. The man is apprehended on suspicion of arson but is in need of care and is therefore taken to the hospital.

The fire is now extinguished. In addition to the man who is suspected of committing a crime, a seriously injured person is being taken to the hospital. Up to 20 people have been evacuated from the building.

A temporary gathering point has been arranged in the adjacent subway. 36 people are said to be there right now. Several of the people have inhaled smoke, but it is unclear if it is enough help that can be obtained on the spot or if they need to be taken to the hospital.
