Elderly woman targeted for fraud.
A woman in her 80s contacts the police after being targeted by a scam via SMS and phone calls.
The woman received an SMS from a "technology company" saying she had bought a mobile phone, which she hadn't. When she called the number in the SMS, a person answered and claimed to work at the woman's bank.
The person on the phone claimed that the woman had been targeted by a scam and instructed her to transfer 12,000:- via Swish, which the woman did.
The police are investigating the incident as a scam and warn the public to be vigilant about similar methods.
