Reports came in about an 80-year-old woman receiving an SMS and subsequently being deceived into revealing her account information. The person who sent the SMS claimed to be a relative of the woman.

After the woman realized it was a scam, contact was made with the bank's block function.

The police were dispatched to the scene and a report of attempted fraud was filed.

The police want to remind everyone never to reveal account information or other sensitive information to an unknown person. The police also want to urge people to report crimes to the police and block accounts and cards.
