The jacket that was hanging in the staff room had burned.

When the smoke became strong, the staff decided to evacuate the preschool. The children became a bit anxious on the spot but everything went smoothly.

All guardians have received a message from Söderhamns kommun, asking them to come to the school and pick up their children. The preschool needs to be aired out.

The police are documenting the scene and filing a report on the arson or vandalism through fire.

At the time of reporting, it is unknown how the fire started.

The staff room where the fire occurred is cordoned off until the police technicians have conducted an investigation of the fire scene.

No one has suffered physical injury.
