Here follow a selection of the night's events:

22.00 Traffic accident Skellefteå:
Larm om traffic accident on road 855, Medle. A car has been driven off the road for unknown reasons. The driver, a man in his 70s, is being taken to medical care by ambulance, but his life cannot be saved. Relatives have been informed.

Police are to investigate what happened.

22.07 Wildlife accident, Skellefteå:
Police receive a report of an accident involving a transport truck and an elk on road 364, Västomviken. No personal injuries are reported.

05.31 Traffic control, Umeå:
At a traffic control on national road 92, Kåddis, around 60 drivers are asked to blow into the police's breathalyzer. All are sober.

Two drivers are fined for speeding. One driver is fined for disorderly conduct for driving a vehicle with a driving ban and a broken headlight.

Other:
A person has been taken in for testing after suspicion of narcotics crime.

Police have also conducted checks of people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of a crime.
