The victims are all around 80 years old and women. Today, the victims are residing in Åkersberga, Norrtälje, Kista, and two in Järna.

The modus operandi is similar - a person who is considered convincing and credible calls and claims to be from a paid service, a bank, an electrical store, a security company, or the police.

The person pretends to want to protect the person from a crime or prevent a fictitious crime from being committed - in several cases, a person then goes to the victim's home and collects valuable items. 

Talk to your elderly relatives or acquaintances about the risk of being targeted for fraud - never log in to a bank or the like on someone else's instruction. 

The police or security companies will never go to your home and collect valuable items to 'protect the caller.'
