Impaired driver was stopped thanks to security guards.
A security guard at Gävle hospital contacts the police due to a suspected intoxicated man who is supposed to be in front of the steering wheel in a parked car on the hospital area's parking lot.
According to the security guard, the man had come in as a relative to a person who needed hospital care.
A police patrol is ordered to the scene to check the man, who at that time had not been seen driving the car. The man says that his wife is supposed to drive the car home later and the patrol therefore leaves without action.
A short time later, the security guard calls again and reports that the man is now driving away with the car. A patrol is ordered out and can eventually find and stop the car.
The man, who is in his 65s, blows positively and is suspected of gross drunk driving. The man is taken for further testing and the police confiscate the car keys.
