Here follows a selection of last night's events:

23:35 Misdemeanor, Umeå:
Police patrol is ordered to central Umeå due to a drunk and rowdy man allegedly stealing groceries from a hotel. The man is said to have kicked two people and attempted to assault a third person on Vasaplan after leaving the hotel.

The man, who is in his 30s, is apprehended by police and later arrested by a prosecutor. He is suspected of assault, attempted assault, petty theft, violent resistance, and attempted obstruction of a public official.

Police have spoken with three of the three injured parties. The third had left the scene and police are urging that person to contact police via 114 14.

03:08 Fire, Umeå
Police are alerted to a fire in Haga, Umeå. A fire is said to have occurred but has been extinguished. Police have been on the scene. A report of general carelessness is filed. 

Other:
Four people have been taken into custody for intoxication.

Police have also conducted checks on people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of crime.
