A man woke up to "strange sounds" early on New Year's morning.

When he checked his residence, he discovered a burglar in the act of breaking into his outdoor area.

The suspected thief left the scene.

Police went to the scene and checked several people in the area.

A report was filed for attempted break-in, but no one has been given suspicion at this time.
