During the night, the police were contacted about an elderly woman in Katrineholm who is believed to have been swindled out of thousands of kronor. A scammer is said to have contacted her via phone, claiming to be from a telephone company. He then allegedly obtained the victim's money by getting her to sign something via a link. This is said to have occurred earlier on Friday. A police patrol has been to the victim's location to investigate further. A report has been filed regarding fraud and attempted fraud.
Assault in Nyköping
About 03:00, the police were alerted that a man had been beaten by another person at an address in eastern Nyköping. A police patrol arrived at the scene, where it was reported to be chaotic. A man suspected of grievous bodily harm was arrested. The victim did not suffer serious injury, but sought medical attention as a result of the incident.
Suspected drunk driving in Strängnäs
About 05:00, the police were alerted about a driver who was suspected of driving under the influence in Strängnäs. The police went out and stopped the car for a check. After investigation, the driver, a man in his 40s, is suspected of drunk driving. He was taken to the police station for further control.
