Reports are coming in that a woman has been assaulted by her husband.

The man is also alleged to have attempted to harm her with a sharp object.

After the assault, the woman is not allowed to call an ambulance and she is not allowed to leave the residence.

When the police arrive at the scene, they apprehend the man and seal off the residence for technical examination.

The woman receives care from ambulance personnel but is not seriously injured.

The man is later detained and is now suspected of attempted murder or aggravated assault, as well as unlawful detention.

Further charges may be added.

The case is now in the hands of the prosecutor and further questions are referred to the Prosecution Authority.
