The Police Authority has decided on surveillance with UAS, drones, in the Mellanstaden area in Karlskrona. The surveillance is carried out in a safety-enhancing and crime-preventing purpose.

The decision applies from and including 2024-12-20 and until and including 2025-12-19.

About surveillance with UAS

The police have the right to surveil a crime-exposed location if there is a risk of criminal activity. The purpose of the surveillance is to prevent, prevent or detect crimes at a crime-exposed location and ensure the general order and security.

The police do not film particularly sensitive locations such as homes.
