The rape was discovered in connection with a police presence at a residence in another matter. The woman told the police that she had been raped by one of the men present in the residence.

Two other men have facilitated the perpetrator to carry out the rape. Police have arrested three men - one person suspected of gross rape and two people suspected of aiding and abetting gross rape. The suspects are in the 25- to 35-year-old age range.

Police will conduct a technical investigation of the crime scene to secure evidence, a number of seizures have been made that also fall within the scope of the investigation.

In connection with the assault, the perpetrator threatened the woman with an object resembling a weapon, which is why the crime is classified as gross rape.
