Two arrested after public intervention.
I the tractors around Ramsjö, a general public gets a glimpse of two people who are about to load a quad bike into a trailer. The general public suspects an ongoing theft and therefore contacts the police.
When the car and trailer leave the location heading south, the informant decides to follow in a car. Thanks to the public's alert intervention, a police patrol can catch up with the vehicle and make a stop.
In the car, there were two people, a man and a woman in their 30s, who matched the description, and both were apprehended on the spot. The car turned out to have fake license plates at the time of discovery.
In the trailer, which was also found to be stolen, among other things, the stolen quad bike was found. But also other suspected stolen goods were found in the trailer and car and could be seized.
Both the man and the woman are suspected of theft, fraud, trademark forgery, and unauthorized detention. The man, who was driving the car, was found to lack a driver's license and is therefore also suspected of gross unauthorized driving.
Since the man has been convicted of similar criminal offenses in the past, the police also choose to confiscate the man's car according to the seventh paragraph of the Traffic Offenses Act (TBL7*).
*=7 § A vehicle that has been used in an offense under this Act may be declared forfeited if it is necessary to prevent further such offenses and confiscation is not obviously unreasonable. The same applies to other property that has been used as a tool in an offense under this Act.
