A woman has been contacted by someone who claimed to be her son over the past few days. In this way, the scammer has managed to trick the woman into sending money. The scammer is also believed to have gained access to the woman's bank accounts.

She is said to have lost around 5,000 kronor, but the scammer is also believed to have attempted to transfer around 250,000 kronor from the woman's accounts. However, the bank has been helpful in stopping these transactions.

The police have interviewed the victim woman and then filed a report regarding completed fraud of normal grade as well as an attempt at gross fraud. There is no suspected person.

Always take safety precautions when receiving messages from someone who claims to be familiar and asks for help or transfer of money. If you, as in this case, are contacted via SMS, then call the person to verify that it is indeed the person you are talking to.
