Luxury car worth 2.5 million kronor is stolen.
During the night leading up to Wednesday, someone or several people have stolen a Mercedes AMG G63 from a property in Barnarp south of Jönköping. The car is exclusive and worth around 2.5 million kronor.
Earlier in the week, an attempt was made to steal a car of the same model in Väderstad south of Linköping. The police do not know for certain if these two events are connected, but previously they have seen that gangs carry out several thefts within a relatively short period of time before shipping the cars abroad.
Therefore, the police want to alert owners of premium cars (for example, Dodge RAM or the desirable Toyota Rav4) in general and owners of Mercedes AMG in particular to be aware of this and to take the precautions they can.
The police also want to emphasize that there have been several cases of attempted scams related to car thefts. Where someone rings or sends an SMS and wants money in exchange for information on where the car is. The clear warning is never to pay, because you will never get your car back that way. Contact the police instead.
