Summary of last night's events.

Police have handled a hundred incidents in Östergötland county between 10 PM and 7 AM. No serious violent crimes or serious incidents have come to the police's knowledge. Three wild animal accidents (elk) have occurred but not with any personal injuries.

22:13 Driving under the influence - Linköping

A patrol makes a stop and inspection on a private car in Berga. The driver, a man in his mid-30s, shows signs of being under the influence and is taken for a blood test. He is now suspected of driving under the influence.

01:11 Theft by breaking and entering - Mjölby

Police are alerted that a person is moving around on the construction site of Mjölby school. Patrols see that tools are scattered around the area and that it is likely that someone was there with the intention of stealing, but no suspect is left on the scene. A cordon is set up and a technical investigation will be carried out during the day. 

02:35 Violence against a public official etc - Norrköping

Police are alerted due to a car accident, single-vehicle collision, in Smedby. The scene is chaotic and the dog patrol that arrives first is told that the driver has fled. The young man, a boy under 18 years old, can quickly be tracked down to a nearby nature reserve. When he is to be arrested, he kicks at the dog and the police officer and is bitten in the knee. He is transported to the hospital for treatment and is suspected of a range of crimes: Violence against a public official, driving under the influence, drug crime for personal use, unauthorized driving, and fleeing the scene of a traffic accident.
