Yesterday afternoon, the police were contacted due to a hiker on Kungsleden who had fallen and injured their ankle. The person had food and water and was located in a rest hut together with companions. 

The police officer on duty decided on mountain rescue according to the LSO, the Act on Protection against Accidents, since the hiker could not get down from the mountain on foot. 

Today, the police helicopter has transported the person to medical care in Gällivare.

The mountain rescue is completed.
