Under the Sunday, the police were alerted about a number of scams against the elderly.

15.24 a call came in from a 90-year-old woman in Surahammar who had been called by someone claiming to be from the police. The woman was then visited by someone who stole her jewelry. A report of fraud was made.

17.46 a call came in about another 90-year-old woman in Fagersta who had been called by someone claiming to be from the police. The woman never received a visit, which means that a report of attempted fraud was made.

18.17 a call came in about yet another 90-year-old woman in Surahammar who had been called by someone claiming to be from the police. The woman, who lives in a nursing home, was advised not to receive visits from people who were not uniformed police or known to her. A report of attempted fraud was made.

In order to avoid being a victim of fraud, one should never let unknown people into the home, and one should not give out codes or other sensitive information to unknown people.
