Police were alerted to Utmarksvägen in Gävle due to a serious traffic accident between a bus and a moped.

The driver of the moped, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital in an ambulance with severe injuries and later confirmed dead during the night. Relatives have been informed.

The bus and moped are seized for a technical examination.

An investigation into gross negligence in traffic and causing death to another person has been initiated. There are currently no reports of anyone being suspected of a crime.
