Well-maintained moped car had big consequences.

The police received a report from a vigilant public about a moped that was driven at a speed significantly over the allowed speed limit. It is alleged to have reached speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.

A patrol was sent out and was able to locate the moped, which had been driven by a 15-year-old boy. The moped has been seized for technical examination and the boy is suspected of reckless driving. The boy's father is also suspected of allowing reckless driving.

It is not uncommon for mopeds, A-tractors and scooters to be modified. However, many parents do not think about the crime of "allowing reckless driving". It is a traffic offense whose ultimate consequence is that the parent's driver's license is revoked, even if the most common punishment is a fine. Allowing reckless driving can also be lending a vehicle to a friend who does not have a driver's license.

The punishment for driving a modified vehicle is a fine, but it can also lead to not being eligible for a driving permit when it is time to take the actual driver's license.

The police want to remind parents of the responsibility they have for their children and their vehicles. Many serious accidents occur with modified vehicles, and the consequences are, in other words, much worse than fines and revoked driver's licenses.
