Today a man in his 60s has been apprehended in a hotel room in Sundsvall suspected of raping a woman. The alleged crime is said to have occurred during the night before today.

The police are investigating the matter. Interrogations have been held and information has been gathered. The hotel room was cordoned off and a technical examination has been conducted, items have been seized and traces have been secured.

Prosecutors have made a decision to detain the man on probable cause suspected of rape.

The case is now being led by a prosecutor.
