Police advice on how to protect yourself
Don't let strangers into your home. Close the door if something feels off. The police or serious companies never go home to collect bank cards, codes, or valuable items. Don't leave out sensitive information or valuable items.
Hang up the phone. If someone calls and claims to be from the bank, a government agency, or a relative who needs help and you're unsure – end the call.
Don't log in anywhere on someone else's request. Never use BankID or give out codes after someone has called you.
Don't click on unknown links. Don't open links in SMS or emails that you don't trust. Look up official contact information if you're unsure.
Check what security solutions the bank has as an option. If they, for example, have double-signing or time delay on larger transactions. Choose that in that case.
In the event of ongoing crime call 112. If the crime is not ongoing, contact the police on 114 14.
