Police are investigating a serious crime in the western parts of Norrköping. Police are working intensively to gather information to clarify what happened.

Update: 21:26 - Police are continuing to gather information to get an understanding of the incident. This includes collecting witness statements and securing evidence. Police resources with different competences are participating in the operation.

21:35 - A person has been injured and taken away by ambulance. The extent of the injuries is not known. An area is cordoned off for investigative purposes.

Update 1/5, kl 07.15: 

Yesterday, a shooting occurred in Norrköping.

A man in his 20s was injured. The extent of the injuries is serious and the injured man is being treated in hospital.

Two people have been arrested by the police. The two individuals were apprehended outdoors in Norrköping shortly after the shooting. The two suspects are detained, suspected of attempted murder and serious firearms offenses.

The cordons that were in place were lifted at 02:00.

The investigation continues today with information gathering, interviews and analysis of yesterday's information.

Update, correction, 1/5 09.30: Earlier it was stated that the shooting occurred in Folkparken. The shooting occurred in the residential area of Marielund, not in Folkparken.

Update Sunday, 3/5: 

The man who was shot in Marielund has died from his injuries in hospital. The man's relatives have been informed of what has happened.

The incident is now being investigated as a murder and the Public Prosecution Authority is in charge of the investigation. From the police's side, we would like to remind the public that we are seeking further witness statements and other information that may be valuable in connection with this crime. This has occurred in the middle of a residential area where it is likely that many people may have knowledge of details that can help us in this investigation.
