Under the afternoon, the police have received two calls regarding so-called physical vishing in Piteå.

The victim, two elderly individuals, are said to have been called by a person who falsely claimed to be a police officer. The scammer is said to have talked about break-ins occurring in the area.

One of the victims is then said to have received a visit from a person and handed over valuable items to this person.

The police are working on the cases but want to alert the public that this type of scam is currently ongoing in the area.
