
The police see an increase in scams.
Several calls from worried private individuals have been received by the police contact center (PKC) regarding e-mails stating that one must pay traffic fines to the Swedish Police Authority. There is also a link in the e-mail that the scammers want you to click on in order to complete your payment, the sender comes from different e-mail accounts.
These are false and the police advise against clicking on the link.
The Swedish Police Authority never contacts private individuals via e-mail or phone to reach out to them.

Update:
The police contact center (PKC) in the southern police region has so far received over 90 calls from people who have received the message. People who have clicked on the link in the message and made a payment are asked to contact 114 14 and report the crime.
