Under the night until Thursday, an explosion occurred in the central parts of Eksjö. No person was injured in the incident. However, there were material damages to two vehicles that were parked in the area. The location was cordoned off and a larger number of police resources have worked on a number of investigative measures on the scene. This has included collecting witness statements, securing evidence, conducting technical investigations, and other investigative measures.
The national bomb protection has been on the scene and made an assessment of the object that exploded. What the object is cannot be disclosed due to investigative technical reasons.

No one has been able to be arrested as a suspect at this time. An investigation has been initiated into general destruction and crimes against the law on flammable and explosive goods.
