Police regional command center has handled around 50 cases related to Jönköping County between 22:00 and 07:00.

Attempted murder, Mariannelund
At 23:53, the police were alerted to a fight in Mariannelund. According to early reports, a man is said to have beaten and kicked a woman, and attempted to harm her with a knife-like object. The woman is being checked by ambulance but does not need to be taken to hospital. Several police patrols are working at the scene, including securing and cordoning off the crime scene, as well as searching for clues with a dog handler. 
The police locate the suspected perpetrator in a nearby residence and the man is arrested, suspected of attempted murder. 
The man, who is in his 20s, is also suspected of gross illegal threats as he is said to have uttered threats against another man at the same time as the assault on the woman. 
The suspected man has been detained by the prosecutor. 

In addition to this, the police have carried out routine checks on their own initiative or following reports from the public.
