Police are to check a vehicle in Smålandsstenar, but the driver chooses not to stop and instead tries to drive away from the police on regional road 153 towards Värnamo. A subsequent pursuit ensues at varying high speeds. In a roundabout in Reftele, the driver loses control of the vehicle and drives into three trailers that are standing at the roundabout. The driver, a boy under 18 years old, is injured but not life-threatening. He is taken to hospital by ambulance. He is now suspected of unauthorized driving, theft of fuel, drug driving, drug offense for personal use, failure to stop for a police officer's signal, and gross negligence in traffic.
