Two people in the Nordmalings municipality have been targeted for fraud via phone. The person who called claimed that a purchase had been made with a bank card belonging to the person being called and that the purchases could be stopped if information about the card number and bank ID was provided.

After the calls, money is missing from accounts belonging to the people being called.

The police have held interrogations with the affected individuals and a report on fraud is to be prepared.

Phone fraud (vishing) affects many. You can lose money by being tricked into logging in to your bank or giving out codes/card information. You can also lose money, gold, and other valuables at home.

So, you protect yourself:

- Hang up the phone

- Do not log in

- Do not trust the person calling
