Police have currently cordoned off parts of the police station in Västerås because of a suspected dangerous object that was brought to the reception desk.

The cordon also includes Västgötegatan.

Parts of the police station have also been evacuated while the object is being checked.

Update, 4:51 p.m.

Following an assessment by the National Bomb Squad (NBS), the cordons have been lifted and staff have returned.

The object, which turned out to be old dynamite, has been taken into custody by a police patrol for transport to another location.
