Robbery, tobacco – and an unusually honest return visit in Borlänge
Under Monday evening, 27 October, an alarm came in from a shop in Borlänge due to a robbery. An unknown perpetrator had entered the shop, knocked over a shelf with goods and then threatened the staff with a hammer. He then seized tobacco and left the scene. Patrols were ordered to the scene. The area was cordoned off for a technical investigation and an investigation into robbery and vandalism was initiated. However, there was no suspect.
While a number of investigative measures were ongoing during the night and Tuesday, new information came in the day after the crimes took place.
Just before 15:00, a 35-year-old man entered the shop and wanted to apologize for having subjected the shop to the robbery. A patrol was ordered to the scene and arrested the man. Everything went very smoothly.
The man was remanded in custody on 30 October.
