On Södermalm, an 80-year-old man is pushed down in the stairwell when he and his wife try to stop a scammer who has come home to them to collect gold. 
The scammer disappears from the scene without getting any gold, but since violence has been used, the police classify the incident as an attempted robbery. 
The pushed-down man has not suffered any injuries.

For the couple on Södermalm, everything started when they received an SMS with a demand to return a rental car.
During the afternoon and evening, the police have received several reports from elderly people in central Stockholm where scammers have used the same method. 
The SMS appears to come from a chain of gas stations that rent out cars. But since none of the recipients have rented a car, several have called back on the given number where scammers have answered and said that the elderly people are victims of a crime and that they therefore should come home and collect gold. 

In one case on Kungsholmen, the crime has been completed and unknown perpetrators have collected gold of unknown value from an elderly woman. The incident is classified as serious fraud.
The other crimes that are known at this time have stalled at the attempt stage. 

Never leave gold to people who make home visits to "help" you. No serious actors work this way, it's always about people who are trying to commit a crime against you.

Never call back on phone numbers that have been given in unexpected SMS or emails. Instead, use official contact channels to the company/authority that you yourself look up.
