A caller alerts the police and says that someone has tried to break into his garage by drilling out the lock. For an unknown reason, the break-in was not completed. The victim owns cars of the type that have recently featured in theft cases. 

The police have been in contact with owners of Mercedes G63 cars and urged them to be extra vigilant. This could mean, for example, parking the cars in a garage instead of outdoors, blocking them in with other cars, and keeping any surveillance cameras running at all times, not just when movement is detected. 

The warning also applies to owners of other similar premium cars, such as Land Rovers. 

The public is also urged to alert the police if they spot cars of this type parked in unusual places or otherwise standing out.
