The police are assisting the rescue service with a fire in a building in central Västerås. The fire is burning with open flames and smoke from the fire is spreading over parts of central Västerås. The building has been evacuated and the rescue service is working to set up a collection point for the people who have had to evacuate the building. The extinguishing work is continuing.

One person has had to seek medical care due to burns in connection with the incident. There are currently no reports of any further injured persons.

There is currently no suspicion of a crime linked to the incident.
