Shortly after 21:00 on Saturday evening, police are alerted that windows have been smashed and a car has been damaged at a business premises in Vilsta, in the southern parts of Eskilstuna. When the police have arrived at the scene and made an initial investigation of the damage, it appears likely that something explosive detonated at the location. No one is reported to have been injured in connection with the incident.

A preliminary investigation is initiated regarding malicious destruction of property and a crime against the law on flammable and explosive substances. The crime scene is then cordoned off and various interrogations are initiated. During the evening, the national bomb protection unit and technicians are also called to the scene to conduct an investigation. The police's preliminary investigation continues, and there are currently no information about suspects or any arrests.
