
The police are searching for a missing man.
At 6 pm on Tuesday afternoon, the police were contacted about a missing person in Valdemarsvik. The man, in his 40s, is said to have left his home at 5:45 am on Tuesday morning, and when he had not returned or could be reached throughout the day, relatives have become worried.
The man is approximately 185 centimeters tall, has light blond hair, glasses, blue eyes, a slender build, and is believed to be wearing a black jacket, a cap, and hiking boots.
Since the disappearance, the police have been working on gathering information, conducting searches near the man's home, as well as at other locations where he may have been. Checks with the healthcare system, etc., have not yielded any results, nor has mobile positioning. At 9:45 pm on Tuesday evening, the rescue service was initiated.
On Wednesday, the operation continued with full force. The police have called in the home guard, the coast guard, and also have access to UAS (drones) in the search effort. On Wednesday afternoon, the Swedish Coast and Sea Rescue Service will join the operation.
The police suspect no crime in connection with the disappearance.
