From and with effect from tomorrow, March 14, it is allowed to fish in Rautasjaure for a period. (See the county administrative board's website for current information). It is however not allowed before that. The police have therefore, in cooperation with the county administrative board, carried out controls to prevent crimes and at the same time check compliance with the rules.

During the day, a person has been suspected of illegal fishing. Interrogations have been held and a report has been drawn up. The case has been handled according to the working method of faster prosecution. This means that the police investigate the crime directly at the intervention.

Otherwise, a case concerning preparation for illegal fishing has been handled. Fishing equipment has also been confiscated to prevent crimes.

Furthermore, snowmobile traffic and a temporary snowmobile ban area in the terrain around have been checked, without any remarks.

The police patrols have reported that they have seen a better compliance with the rules in the area this year compared to previous years.
