A selection of last night's police activity.
Between 00-07, three people have been taken into custody for intoxication. The police have also carried out several checks of people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of a crime.

During the night, the police arrested a man in Luleå who is suspected of assaulting a woman he is in a relationship with. The man, who is in his 40s, is being questioned and contact is being made with the prosecutor who will decide whether the man should be detained or not. There are no reports that the woman needed emergency care.

The police stop and check a car in Piteå. The driver, a man in his 20s, blows positive and further sampling is carried out. The driver is suspected of being under the influence of both alcohol and narcotics. In connection with the check, the driver behaves in a way that suspicion of violent resistance and threats against an official arises. The driver is taken into custody with the support of the law on the taking into custody of intoxicated persons (LOB).

Overall, the police who worked in Haparanda over the weekend describe it as chaotic with a high level of intoxication, but that many have still behaved well. The police have noted that many minors have been intoxicated.
20 people were taken into custody with the support of the law on the taking into custody of intoxicated persons (LOB). A further four people were taken into custody under LOB, but were handed over to their homes. Around 100 people were turned away or removed.
In other matters, the police have handled cases involving a blue light sabotage, an insult to an official and six reports of assault, of which one was serious. In addition, 14 fines were issued for public urination and around 70 fines were issued for various traffic offenses. The police have also directly confiscated large quantities of alcohol.
