False alarm caused evacuation.
The police were alerted to a multi-family house in Surahammar after a person reported that he had received a phone call where an unknown person claimed that a bomb had been placed at the entrance to the residence. The information was taken seriously and a patrol was ordered to the scene to verify the information.
On the scene, the police conducted a check without encountering any suspicious objects.
After initial investigative measures from the patrol, it turned out that the phone call came from an acquaintance of the complainant, who had called in order to joke.
The incident is classified as a false alarm and a complaint has been filed. The police remind that this type of "joke" can take valuable resources away from other urgent matters.
