”The two... leaders will converse and have an in-depth exchange of views on the Chinese-North Korean relations and common interests”, says the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun in Beijing.
It is unclear when the conversation will take place.
”China is willing to work with the DPRK (an abbreviation for North Korea) to strengthen strategic communication,” Guo continues.
China is North Korea's most important ally on the global arena. Over the years, Beijing has assisted the sanctions-stricken neighboring country with diplomatic, economic and political support.
Kim arrived in Beijing on Tuesday by train, together with his daughter Kim Ju-Ae.
