+ Family dispute over Ronaldo
Clumsy, embarrassing and sad, there was no shortage of strong expressions when pundits and experts reviewed Cristiano Ronaldo's performance in the World Cup opener against Congo-Kinshasa. But more people have joined the debate.
Ronaldo's sister Katia Aveiro commented on her little brother's teammates on Instagram.
"Somehow magically they forgot how to pass the ball around, win it back and start counterattacks," she wrote, among other things.
But more relatives wanted to give their opinion on the matter. Madalena Aragao, girlfriend of Portugal midfielder João Neves, attacked a user who thought her boyfriend should pass the ball to “Goat” (Greatest Of All Time) more often. Aragao responded sharply, “Tell your ‘Goat’ to put his shoes on the shelf. He is very selfish.”

+ FA bans questions about rape allegations
Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey was not granted a visa to Canada as he is charged with multiple counts of rape, and missed the team's opening match against Panama.
However, he has been granted a visa to the United States and is expected to be fit for the match against England, according to media reports. The offences are alleged to have been committed during Partey's time at Arsenal, where he was a teammate of Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka. English media have wanted to ask the England squad questions about the matter, but are now being prevented from doing so.
According to a press spokesperson for the English Football Association (FA), they cited "legal reasons."

+ Can Congo-Kinshasa ride the wave of shock?
So far, fears that the expanded World Cup format would be a mockery have not been borne out. Cape Verde are undefeated, Curaçao are still in the race to advance, and Congo-Kinshasa took their first World Cup point in the opener against Portugal. Now the Congolese are hoping to write another piece of football history and take the nation's first World Cup victory in the match against Colombia.
