The plan, which runs from June to November, is intended to "manage" the Ebola outbreak that is spreading fear in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries such as Uganda.
The focus includes coordination of emergency responses, surveillance, laboratory testing, preventive measures, clinical care and engagement with civil society, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced at a press conference.
Since the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in mid-May, at least 240 people have died and more than 1,000 suspected cases have been reported, according to the CDC. However, the undercount is believed to be large.
