New York stock exchange's leading index fell back somewhat from yesterday's record levels. Klarna's share surged in the initial trading, but then fell back.

The broad S&P 500 index and the technology-heavy Nasdaq's composite index reached new record levels during yesterday, but took small steps back on Thursday and closed at 0.3 and 0.1 percent, respectively.

The Dow Jones industrial index lost 0.5 percent.

Chip giant Nvidia continued its upward journey with 1.8 percent.

Another company that performed well was Delta Airlines, which rose over 4 percent and whose earnings report beat expectations. The company's CEO Ed Bastian also stated that they do not see any decreased demand.

Swedish payment group Klarna's share rose in early trading, after news of a strategic partnership in AI with cloud giant Google Cloud. The share rose 4 percent in advance trading but later fell back and closed at minus 1.9 percent.

It has been relatively calm trading days in recent weeks, if you only look at the development of the broad index. It is the 33rd day in a row that the S&P 500 has recorded movements of neither over nor under 1 percent – the longest such streak since January 2020, according to CNBC.
