Villa/Lidköping won the series convincingly after winning 25 out of 26 matches.
But fifth-placed Västerås SK, last year's final opponent to Villa, led the semifinal series with 2–1 in matches and could decide at home on Saturday.
Then Villa showed class.
Felix Persson scored two goals in the first half and Victor Petersson a controversial 2–1 goal when Villa took control with a 3–1 lead.
Petersson whipped in Villa's second goal with a suspected high stick less than a minute after VSK's equalizer.
The home players protested, but to no avail with the referees.
In the second half, Villa pulled away.
Now the team gets home advantage in Lidköping in the fifth and decisive semifinal on Monday. Villa/Lidköping is chasing its seventh consecutive SM final, for the second year in a row in Västerås.
Edsbyn has already secured its spot as one of the SM finalists.
The SM finals for both women's and men's teams will be played on March 15.
