In a statement on Friday, the opposition movement said the deadline to hold new elections had expired after former President Nicolás Maduro was deposed and taken by the US military.
Vice President Delcy Rodriguez replaced Maduro on January 5, two days after Maduro was flown to New York to stand trial.
But Machado, who is a rallying point for opposition figures within the Vente movement, is demanding that a presidential election be held "30 days after this call."
According to Venezuela's constitution, an absent president must be replaced within 90 days of his disappearance, with the possibility of an extension.
