"Mutual fees" or "mutual tariffs" have been key words in Donald Trump's verbal repertoire in the trade war with threats of tariffs that has been a serial story since he took office in January.
And so it continues.
The White House press spokesperson Karoline Leavitt says that Trump has been "very clear about his intentions ahead of April 2".
There will be major announcements regarding mutual trade, says Karoline Leavitt to reporters outside the White House in Washington DC on Thursday.
And the president will highlight the unfair trade practices, the ways in which the USA – if we are to be honest – has been ripped off by all countries around the world.
She continues:
It's about real tariffs that will come into effect.
The other day, the US Finance Minister Scott Bessent told the TV channel Fox that they intend to give each country a number that will represent the tariff that the country in question will receive. But if countries stop with their "methods", then "we will not put up this tariff wall", said Bessent.
Earlier, the USA has, among other things, introduced 25-percent tariffs against all countries on steel and aluminium.
