The new attacks, which took place on Sunday, come two days after the United States and Nigeria killed the jihadist group's second-highest leader, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, in a joint operation.
U.S. President Donald Trump described al-Minuki as "the world's most active terrorist" when he announced on social media that he had been killed.
Northern Nigeria has been subjected to attacks both by jihadist groups allied with IS and by criminal gangs that have attacked villages and carried out mass kidnappings.
According to the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), intelligence confirmed the targets were IS fighters and that no American or Nigerian forces were injured in the attack.
