The interventions are to involve forced abortions and sterilizations of persons with various intellectual disabilities, as well as the killing of children born with disabilities with the knowledge and consent of the authorities, reports the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
There are also reports of clinical experiments on people with varying functions against their will.
The committee's report is based on testimonies from North Korean refugees, confidential reports, and from the UN's special envoy who visited the country.
"The committee is concerned that persons with disabilities in custody are subjected to degrading treatment, including isolation cells for perceived disobedience or for unproductivity," the report states.
They urge the country's political leadership in the capital Pyongyang to take action to prevent torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.
North Korea denies all allegations.
