Wreckage from the drone was found by an agricultural worker in the southeastern parts of Estonia on Tuesday. No human is reported to have been injured.
"Based on our investigation, we have reason to believe that it is a Ukrainian drone that was aimed at a target in Russia," says Margo Palloson, Director-General of the Estonian Security Police.
The drone is believed to have been disrupted from its trajectory by Russian electronic influence and thus ended up in Estonian airspace – a method that Russia often uses, according to Palloson.
Neighboring countries to Russia and Ukraine have long reported on intrusive drones from both countries.
Last week, the Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz condemned a Russian "provocation" after a Russian drone exploded in a field in eastern Poland, without causing personal injuries.
